God is good all the time

Our Charity Giving

Every 3 years, the PCC selects three charities for which we will fundraise and hold our Social Justice Sunday services across the year. This is in addition to annual fundraising services and events for The Children’s Society and Kate’s Home Nursing. Many of our community also volunteer and support these charities in other ways.

Christian Aid

We are a global movement of people, churches and local organisations. We are the changemakers, the peacemakers, the mighty of heart.

North Cotswold Foodbank

14 million people in the UK live below the poverty line. Foodbank use has increased 18% over pre-pandemic levels and is set to increase again as costs of living rise further.

WINTER FUEL ALLOWANCE : an Appeal by the PCC

This winter is set to see fuel poverty in our parish on a scale not experienced for generations. The Winter Fuel Allowance is a vital support to many of our older residents; but it is not means tested, and even this year, it will be given to some who do not really need it. If you are fortunate enough to be in this position, St Lawrence’s Church is asking you to consider donating your payment to a charity which offers help to local people, for example:

North Cotswold Foodbank – money not spent on food becomes available to spend on fuel.

North Cotswold Community Awareness – a charity which supports vulnerable families within our area.

Severn Wye Energy Agency – a charity which provides direct support to those in fuel poverty (please specify if you wish to help our local area)

Please be as generous as you can, and help our local community get through this winter.

Thank you.
